As a professional healthcare provider within the

American healthcare system community I am, fundamentally,

a Licensed Massage Therapist, or LMT. I have pushed my education

and expertise far beyond the essentials required for licensure by

earning certifications in 25 massage related modalities --

the most significant of which is the Advanced Medical Massage Practitioner,

or, AMMP credential. AMMP also stands for Advanced Manual Medicine Practitioner.

Manual Medicine is synonymous with massage, hands-on healing --

it simply refers to primarily using the hands to manually manipulate the muscles

and surrounding soft-tissues of the body as a comprehensive or complimentary

medical method of therapeutically treating stress, pain, injury or illness.

An LMT generally practices massage therapies to achieve general health and wellness goals.

Whereas an AMMP takes massage therapy to the next level by both viewing and practicing

them as manual modalities of modern medicine used to treat specific symptoms and syndromes,

and often intervene in idiopathic illnesses that more traditional modern medical methods don't

provide adequate alleviation or symptom relief.
